yup, these customs rules are clearly targeted against end users while benefiting middlemen who order more pieces
they just want to make consumers to pay more and give more profits to useless middlemen, I was just placing yesterday probably my last order on Ali unless they won't resolve it somehow with big warehouses

Yeah and I hate those little web shops that add no value but just import stuff from Alibaba in bulk and ship it out for a 500% markup. That's the kind of "business" they want to stimulate in Europe, apparently :(

> The new system will have a positive impact both for the EU budget as well as for national public finances
Will it though...?

Definitely for the EU budget. Now it will receive at least 2.25€ per package (75%[1] of 3€) where they got 0€ before. For the individual countries and their customs systems and personnel on the other hand...

unless Ali resolve this with big warehouses I doubt it will have that big benefit, I can guarantee it will make products much more expensive for consumers EU should be protecting instead of few importers that seem to be protecting instead
I often order small electronic components from Ali and this will force me to order larger quantities to make it worth it, leading to waste I might not use.
You can order similar within the EU but companies like mouser and RS have huge minimum order amounts which is why I went with ali in the first place.
